2026 season starts - and we are recruiting!

Our concert programme for 2026 is now in place - and we are inviting new singers to come and join us.
The choir are starting rehearsals of Haydn’s oratorio, ‘Creation’ for performance in June under the baton of our inspirational Music Director Ben Sawyer.
Chairman Magnus Carter said: “We had a phenomenally successful 2025 season, with three sold-out concerts at St James’s Church in Dursley, and we hope to do just as well this year.
“As well as ‘Creation’, we’re preparing Brahms’s fabulous ‘Requiem’ for our winter concert, and we’ll also be doing a couple of events to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Chantry Centre.
“During last year, we hit the 100-members mark and, for a while, had to close recruitment. Inevitably, though, the end of the year brings departures, and I’m delighted to say we’re recruiting again.
“We particularly need lower voices – tenors and basses – but everyone who can sing and follow a line of music is welcome. We are a very friendly choir, and if you’ve ever sung in a chorus, you’ll know what a tremendous lift it can give you – both mentally and physically."
