Tyndale Choral Society bid farewell to recently-retired Treasurer and tenor section leader Alastair Macleod during final rehearsals for our Messiah concert. Alastair and his wife are soon to leave Dursley for a new home in Lancashire.
Chairman Magnus Carter presented Alastair with a John Lewis voucher to help in setting up the new home in the north. Magnus told choiur members: "Alastair has been a stalwart of this choir for twenty years and will be sorely missed.
"His work as treasurer during recent years went well beyond his brief, with Alastair happily taking on a range of tasks, from looking after health and safety issues to printing concert tickets, and from looking after the administrative end of our website, to lumping furniture about in preparation for concerts.
"Alastair helped guide us through those difficult Covid years, ensuring that the choir survived financially and indeed flourished. I personally really appreciated his meticulous approach and wise advice over the years."
